As followers of Jesus, we have opportunity to preach the word–maybe not on a platform behind a pulpit (or pub table or music stand or whatever the case may be), but the living proclamation of Jesus is what we were created to be. Faithfulness looks like doing this with great patience as those carefully apprenticing others.

You’ll notice that I used to write — take a look at the date gap between the last post and this one. You’ll notice that I used to write… and not all that consistently. Or well.
As Sandy Lake Wesleyan is in transition, and as my own ministry and family roles constantly change, I’ve determined to get back to writing on a consistent basis. Honestly, this is more of an outlet and creative expression for me than anything else, but you’re more than welcome to look on, connect, and interact as I share about what I’m learning about life, ministry, Scripture, and leadership. I don’t promise the writing will be any better (more well? weller? awesomer?)…though, I’ll strive for excellence.
The first real posts are coming after the weekend.
What do you do when there’s nothing you can do?
In Exodus 14, we find a mass of men, women, and children who have just been released from the clutches of a people determined to destroy them. The manner of their rescue is spectacular: God shows supremacy over the deities of Egypt and power over their god-king, Pharaoh, through the Passover. Their release is more than just freedom: they’re moving toward the fulfillment of God’s generations-old pledge to Abraham that they would be a nation in a Land of Promise.

The above video (from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Flickr Page) is from images captured by GOES-13 satellite from May 20-25, showing the view from space of the storms and recent devastating tornadoes which have plagued the country. It is incredible to think that something which looks so beautiful from a distance could cause such carnage on the ground.
This is another good remember to pray and provide for those effected by the recent storms.
